Chandler-Gilbert Community College

Stop by CGCC’s handcrafted bowl boutique, Empty Bowls, to partner with us and take home a one-of-a-kind bowl to help feed the hungry. Choose from hundreds of handcrafted bowls to take home for a donation of $10. Every $10 dollars you donate funds 18 meals. Payment for bowls can be in the form of credit/debit, cash or check.

All proceeds from Empty Bowls support AZCEND’s food bank effort to combat hunger and provide food boxes to people in need. The Food Bank serves households with limited/uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods. These food boxes provide the adequate nutrition they need.

GateWay Community College is hosting its Empty Bowls event where hundreds of handmade ceramic bowls will be sold to raise funds for the student food pantries at GateWay Community College locations. You will receive a free bowl of soup with your purchase of a hand-crafted bowl.

 

Glendale Community College

All proceeds from GCC’s Empty Bowls will support the Rio Vista Center, a nonprofit community organization that responds compassionately to the needs of the Valley’s less fortunate through mobilizing and working within the community.

 

Mesa Community College

At MCC’s annual Empty Bowls event, you can choose one of thousands of handcrafted bowls and dine on a simple meal of bread, soup and water in observance of World Hunger Day. All proceeds go directly to the nonprofit Paz de Cristo Community center, which provides anti-hunger and empowerment support for the East Valley’s homeless, unemployed, working poor and their families.

The savory soup is prepared by Pita Jungle, T.C. Eggingtons, and Red, White & Brew.

Silent auctions, featuring ceramic work by some of the Valley’s most talented artists, will be held at both MCC mid-day events from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Paradise Valley Community College

Ceramic bowls made by PVCC students and faculty will be sold to raise money for the Puma Pantry. Each bowl is a symbol for the empty stomachs many people who do not have enough to eat. All bowls are handmade and suitable for oven, dishwasher, and microwave use.

Phoenix College

PC hosts Food Day, a nationwide celebration of healthy, affordable, and sustainably produced food. In addition to the annual Empty Bowls event, attendees can partake in a number of campus activities including an outdoor food fair, guest lecture series, garden club open house, and a screening of the film, Soul Food Junkies. 

Proceeds from the Empty Bowls event will be donated to Andre House, which provides a wide range of services to those in need.

Scottsdale Community College

Alli Ortega Empty Bowls 2019 is a partnership with Scottsdale Unified Schools, Scottsdale Arts, City of Scottsdale agencies, Scottsdale Community Partners, and Scottsdale Community College.

All proceeds are donated to Scottsdale Community Partners for the benefit of Vista del Camino Social Services, which provides a variety of assistance for Scottsdale residents to meet the basic needs of individuals and families in crisis and to relieve economic and emotional stress.

Dedicated to the spirit of volunteerism, this program is named in memory of the late Alli Ortega—local artist, City of Scottsdale employee, and loyal Empty Bowls volunteer.
